SuiteRetail, the makers of SuitePOS for NetSuite and Salesforce, has announced their new Sales Order module to help retailers further unify commerce across all channels. SuitePOS, which enables an easy and fast in-store experience, has now simplified the sale of out-of-stock and special ordered items at the POS. SuitePOS with the Sales Order module revolutionizes the slow and clunky experience found in aging or browser-based point-of-sale systems, and provides an intuitive and fast checkout process that can be completed in seconds.
The new Sales Order module is a natural iteration of SuitePOS since retailers can now ring up transactions for later fulfillment, take deposits, and ship the goods to any destination or schedule for future pick-up at the store. This is ideal for retailers such as furniture or small footprint stores that build or fulfill-to-order items so they do not have to be stocked in expensive retail space. Essentially, this brings the convenience of eCommerce to the storefront with the added bonus of being assisted by knowledgeable employees and seeing and touching the items in real-life.
SuitePOS and the new Sales Order module make check-outs simple and fast at the store. The high performance of SuitePOS directly increases revenue and customer satisfaction. Similar to a cash-and-carry sale, products are selected, a customer is chosen, and then a deposit is made. Pickup or shipping to an existing or new address is super-simple and quick to select, which is very important during seasonal peak shopping when customers want to buy and leave as fast as possible. Completed in-store sales orders are then posted to NetSuite (or Salesforce) for approval, picking, packing, and shipping.
SuiteRetail customer, Boll & Branch, produces and sells luxury high-quality sheets , blankets, and towels, and have started to open brick and mortar pop-up shops to give shoppers the opportunity to touch and feel the product before purchasing. These small pop-up stores carry minimal inventory, and even when product may be in hand, it can be cumbersome to carry the items throughout a mall. SuitePOS makes it effortless for retail clerks to process a sale for ship out, or set items to be picked up later when in-stock.
David Reid, CFO of Boll & Branch, had the following to say about his company's use of SuitePOS with Sales Orders.
"SuitePOS was the only solution we found that combines the seamless routing of orders to our NetSuite instance, with the ability to process both cash-and-carry orders and sales orders within a single POS. It's all about the product and how we can get it to our customers – SuitePOS makes it simple and fast."
These benefits are possible because SuitePOS and NetSuite operate as one system of record, translating to a consistent customer, clerk, and operational experience across all channels. This is important because retailers have to adapt to a new, more fickle paradigm in retail and offer maximum speed and convenience to the customer. Retailers that do not do this will (and already have begun to) vanish and will be surpassed by the convenience of eCommerce – likely someone else's eCommerce.
"SuitePOS is the standard for high volume mid-market retailers, where its simplicity and speed shines. Now with sales order support, store clerks can just as easily ship out made-to-order, out-of-stock or drop-shipped goods," said Jeff Schneider, a Co-founder at SuiteRetail. "It's important to keep in mind that anything we do at the POS is made easy, while fulfillment, warehouse management, and deep intelligence lies in the NetSuite or Salesforce cloud. This maximizes revenue for all types of in-store sales and lowers costs with a 100% cloud-driven solution."
